Plantation,Protection and Propagation of Mangrove trees in Kerala

Protect Mangrove trees in kerala
Mangroves are flowering trees, belonging to the families Rhizophoraceae, Acanthaceae, Lithraceae, Combretaceae and Arecaceae, Mangrove forests are one of the most productive and bio diverse wetland on earth. Mangroves are the natural barriers against climate disasters and help hold back strong blows of the high tidal waves. The river embankments are protected as the roots of the mangroves, grip the earth and prevents landslides. The mangroves are the only plant species which has the maximum capacity to inhale carbon dioxide. The suction capacity is found more in the deployed to defend us from disaster. Growing in the inter tidal areas and estuary mouths between land and sea, mangroves provide critical habitat for a diverse marine and terrestrial flora and fauna. Healthy mangrove forests are key to a healthy marine ecology. The river embankments are protected as the roots of the mangroves, grip the earth and prevents landslides. Mangroves are marine tidal forests and they are most luxuriant around the mouths of the large revers and in sheltered bays and are found mainly in tropical countries where annual rainfall is fairly high. Mangrove plants
include trees, shrubs ferns and palms. These plants are found in the tropics and sub tropics on riverbanks and along coastlines, being unusually adapted to anaerobic conditions of both salt and fresh water environments. These
plants have adapted to muddy, shifting, saline conditions. They produce stilt roots, which project above the mud and water in order to absorb oxygen. Mangrove plants form communities which help to stabilize banks and coastlines
and become home to many types of animals
Our Vision
Now we are taking so much effort to plant and propagate Mangrove trees and mangrove forest in Kerala. In the present, Global warming scenario sea turbulence is destroying the lives of millions of people in the world. In Kerala the rate of sea turbulence is increasing every year. The Eco system in lakes and rivers are disappearing day by day and that has to be restored for the future generations. We have realized that Mangrove forest has great role to restore the Eco system. We have initiated strong step to plant and propagate mangrove trees in Kerala. We are also ready to undertake all the activities come under Biodiversity and its protection, which exist and under threat. We are ready to undertake different activities which are specified by Biodiversity Board, such as Mangrove plantation, protection of lakes, protection of riverbanks, marshy places, protection of tributaries of rivers etc . We have collected lot of mangrove seeds and preserving it for the development of nursery and subsequently for plantation.
Our Target
We are planning to plant 36000 mangrove plants this year, 2022. For the development of nursery of mangrove seedlings and its plantation requires about ₹20,00,000(twenty lakhs’ rupees). We request all the well-wishers and supporters of Environment to contribute and donate some amount, as you can, for the implementation of this project successfully.
